OC Fair

On the Saturday of our vacation we were able to go to the OC fair and we had a wonderful time. The food was amazing which I have to say I had chicken kabobs and a funnel cake with strawberries, powdered sugar, whip cream and vanilla ice cream. All I have to say is yum yum yum! We also had Jay Jay see all of the farm animals which he absolutely loved and the ice sculptures they had there. Anyways it was a great time!

California Trip Part 1

So this past week we have been in California and we've had a great time with Randy's brother Brian and his wife Shannon. We're here this week because Randy is speaking at Brian's church's kids camp. Things have been going great to so far. Jay Jay loves being around his cousins Sadie and Braden, as well as playing with their Buzz and Woody. So far we have went to My Giggle Place, a kid's indoor playground, and Newport Beach. Below are a few pictures of our time here so far.

24 Weeks Pregnant with Baby Jayce

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon. Most women have a glucose screening test (also called a glucose challenge test or GCT) between now and 28 weeks. This test checks for gestational diabetes, a pregnancy-related high-blood-sugar condition. Untreated diabetes increases your risk of having a difficult vaginal delivery or needing a cesarean section because it causes your baby to grow too large, especially in his upper body. It also raises your baby's odds for other complications like low blood sugar right after birth. A positive result on your GCT doesn't mean you have gestational diabetes, but it does mean that you'll need to take the glucose tolerance test (GTT) to find out for sure.



Everything is going great with baby Jayce. So far I have gained about 5 pounds with this pregnancy so finally I am beginning to gain weight, praise the Lord. The doctor has scheduled an ultrasound for my next visit on August 10th to make sure the baby is growing as he should since I haven't been gaining much weight. Plus I have the glucose test my next visit as well. Overall things are going great. I feel great in fact better than great! I love being pregnant and am so blessed. I will say that I am very much looking forward to seeing what baby Jayce looks like and holding him in my arms. But I know how much work a newborn is so I'm not wanting to rush anything.

Jay Jay moves to his big boy

Tonight was a huge feat for my baby boy. We moved him to his big boy bed and he has done great so far. He cried a little bit longer tonight but finally went to sleep. When we went to check on him he was there on his belly curled into a little ball in the middle of the bed. He looked sooo tiny in the bed compared to how he looks in his crib. I wanted to make sure by the time baby Jayce comes that Jay Jay knows he has his own big boy room and that his old room is the baby room and that he doesn't feel jealousy or upset with baby Jayce being in his old room. Potty training should begin soon for Jay Jay we were starting it a week ago but VBS made us stop and wait for a little while to start up again.

Things with baby Jayce are going great thus far. He is definitely a lot lower than Jay Jay was. When I carried Jay Jay he was way high up but with Jayce he's the exact opposite. It will be interesting to see if there personalities will be similar or not.

Jayce Isaac's Ultrasound Pictures & Jay Jay's First Haircut

Yesterday was a huge day for baby buds as well as Jay Jay. First of all we had baby buds ultrasound and found out we are having another boy! Woohoo! We were able to name him as well and went with Jayce Isaac Moore. Also our office now has a 4-d ultrasound so we got to see little Jayce on it and found out he has Jay's and my exact nose:) Also we got to cut Jay Jay's hair which was sad and exciting. But much needed. He definitely looks like a big boy!
