Week 17- My sweet little Onion

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop. (Babycenter.com)

It is kind of ironic that this week is an onion for the simple fact that before I was pregnant I loved onions and now that I am pregnant I hate them! Yuck! This is definitely Randy's baby because he has a hatred towards onions as well. I've been feeling great still and am so thankful the Lord has blessed me with this baby. I have only 6 more days and I will get to find out if Randy and I are expecting a boy or a girl! Honestly I don't care whether the baby is a boy or a girl all I care is that the baby is healthy and doing great inside my belly. I am so excited about the ultrasound and hopefully will get to post some pictures after my appointment on monday so stay tuned in for monday!

16 weeks- appointment and scheduled ultrasound! Yay!

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

I am sooo excited!! I had my appointment today and we scheduled the big date for the ultrasound!! It is April 6th! At this appointment we will find out if I'm having one or two babies as well as if it's a boy or a girl! I cannot wait to know. We heard the heartbeat today but they didn't have an instrument that said how fast the baby was moving but she guessed it around 170 again. She said it sounded fast for sure! I've been feeling great still just enjoying every moment with this baby. Yesterday was a big day for movement, he/she couldn't stop moving. Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks I'm having and if they're right!

15 week baby bump picture

It seems like every week I start seeing more and more of a change in my baby bump and it is sooo exciting! I have been feeling more of those flutters lately, nothing strong at all just barely there. I can't wait til I'll be able to feel it on the outside!

15 weeks- How time has flown!

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.") (Babycenter.com)

I have one week and I get to hear my baby's heartbeat again and do my routine checkup! I can't wait to hear that little heartbeat again and schedule when my ultrasound will be to see my baby. Everythings still going great, I have noticed an increase in my appetite in the past week or so which I'm thinking is fairly normal at this point. My cravings I've had so far have been cucumbers and strawberries with chocolate syrup. Obviously not together! I've decided I'm going to tell a little story of what I did a few weeks ago that I'm not proud of. I decided I was going to make banana nut bread and with that bread I use sweetened condensed milk to put in the bread. Well while making the bread I happened to get a little bit of the sweetened milk on my finger and just had to try it, which I did, and I took more and more out until I finally realized I had ate the entire remains of what was left in the can. That's right folks I ate half a can of sweetened condensed milk! No I am not proud of my feat and neither was my belly an hour later but boy was it good! Unfortunately by the time the bread was done I wanted nothing to do with banana nut bread. Thankfully Randy ate the bread.

Week 14- My active baby!

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active. (babycenter.com)

As for myself, I am feeling great! I am finally getting over this cold, hallelujah, and I have never felt better! I know it's still early in the pregnancy but on Saturday I believe I felt the baby move or something. It felt almost like the tiniest of tickles on the inside of my belly. It happened only a few times that morning and then nothing. Then on monday morning I felt the same exact thing again but just more to the left. I don't know if it was baby but it sure was nothing I've ever felt before and for now I'm going to say it was baby!!

13 Weeks Baby (Holy Cow!) Bump Picture

So I realize that it has been a little over four weeks since my last picture and I do apologize but it seems like, and Randy agrees, that overnight I've began to get bigger. I am now at the stage where all of my pre-pregnancy pants no longer fit like they used to and I'm having to either where my maternity pants pinned in the back so they fit or put an elastic band around my pre-pregnancy pants. I am sooo excited and glad that I'm finally showing and people are now beginning to notice this itty bitty, maybe not so itty bitty bump now! Only 2 more weeks and I get to hear my baby's heartbeat again and have my next check up with the doctor. I have been fighting a cold the past week but thankfully I'm finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with that. I feel great still, besides the cold, and am so thankfully the Lord has blessed me thus far with an uncomplicated and easy pregnancy. I cannot say how glad I am and I thank the Lord everyday!

13 weeks and officially into the second trimester

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce. (babycenter.com)

The most exciting thing for me this week is the fact the I'm leaving my first trimester behind and stepping into the second. Man has time flown! I can't believe I'm already this far along! I plan on taking a picture tonight and posting it of my belly in the past two weeks or so I've really seen a change in my belly even though my weight is still the same. I can definitely tell this baby is growing! I'm trying to get rid of a yucky cold Randy gave me and I can't seem to kick it so I'm giving it one more week and then seeing the dr! Found out that Randy and I are going to be taking a vacation in May which is so exciting! Our only vacation we have been on since we've been married has been our honeymoon and visiting family when we lived in Missouri. So to actually go on a real vacation is sooo exciting! We plan on going to California to see Randy's brother which is still a vacation because we will be getting away from everything and just enjoying our time off. I can't wait!!
