Week 14- My active baby!

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active. (babycenter.com)

As for myself, I am feeling great! I am finally getting over this cold, hallelujah, and I have never felt better! I know it's still early in the pregnancy but on Saturday I believe I felt the baby move or something. It felt almost like the tiniest of tickles on the inside of my belly. It happened only a few times that morning and then nothing. Then on monday morning I felt the same exact thing again but just more to the left. I don't know if it was baby but it sure was nothing I've ever felt before and for now I'm going to say it was baby!!

I also first felt mine at 14 weeks. It's very early, though. Don't be worried if it's days or even a week or more before you feel him/her any more. It can be forever apart! My first "move" felt like something rolling. It's SO exciting!!!!!!!! :D

That is so very exciting! I love reading your blog! I'm only 2 weeks behind you so it's neat to read ahead!

Aww I'm glad that other people enjoy reading my blog:) My main purpose of writing it was so I could look back and remember my pregnancy and everything about my baby. I find it's easier to come online and type something I'm thinking rather than writing it down and hoping I don't lose it. I have a pregnancy book and I cheat and look ahead so often:) It's so neat to see what you're baby will be doing next!
